Setting Up a Linux Server
I'm setting up a new Linux server to be the home for windley.com, providing support for my blog and other related activities. This topic guide chronicles my adventure.
Initial Setup
- Configuring RAID Level 1 A remote server is difficult to backup. Using RAID-1 creates a mirrored drive to guard against disk failures.
- Setting Up a Serial Console Remote servers usually run headless and so having a console on the serial port can come in handy.
- Configuring Linux Notes on things to do to make Linux ready to host Apache and run a Web site.
- Building Apache Notes on building Apache with PHP and SSL.
- Setting Up a SAMBA Server Setting up a simple Samba server and mounting to it from Mac OS X using mount_smbfs.
